    GU Gearbox wiring issues

I have replaced a 2.8 with a Td 42 into a gu 98 model and had the gq harness modified however the gearbox plugs don't match up. I suppose I need a wiring diagram to sort my mess out, as there seems to be more sensors as well. Any help would be very much appreciated as the next step would be a shop.

Welcome to the forum. Try downloading the GU manuals from here http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/patrol-manuals.html
There is an RD28 supplement that might help.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

    Auto or manual?
There's only 3 plugs on a manual td42 box and they're just basic 2 wire switchs (reverse and 4wd light) and one 2 wire hall effect/tach sender...
the reverse and tach are together at the front of the box, and the 4wd is the longer one that loops over to the t/fer case.

The plugs will be 30 years old and shonky, so i'd replace them with new narva or equivalent. unfortunately you won't get the reverse sender out with the engine in, and unless you have needlenose fingers, probably can't rewire it in place!

According to my haynes the 4wd wire (single) is YEL/BLU. The tach is LT BLU + GRY and the reverse light (single) is YEL/RED coming out GRN/WHT
