ZD30 Why cant I lift the head, all bolts out, is there something ive forgotten ??

Hi, Ive come to a halt, and need help please.
Removing the head without removing inner timing cover.
Head is stripped, all bolts are out,, yes and the two behind timing chain tensioner.
I have broken the seal and can lift the head at the rear about 8mm.
At the front if I rock it from side to side it seems to pivot at a poiny just below the gear that conects the two cams and drives them.
I can lift either side 5 0r 6 mm, one side at a time but not both together.
I am wondering if there is a locating dowel in there. I have searched lots of pics and I cant find any sutch dowel.
As I am prying the head upwards I get to the point where I dont want to apply any more force,, somethings gonna break. ??
I will be replacing the head but dont want to damage the timing cover.
Any ideas please.

There is a dowel of some sort there.

Thanks Mudski, Looking at your pic made me rethink, not sure but maybe its frozen onto the front block to head locating dowel. It does seem to rock from a center closer to the passenger side, which is where the front dowel is and I now have it all up about 2mm at the front. Which i think would not be allowed by the dowel I was imagining. I go and have a fight with it and then just have to walk away. Will continue tomorrow.

HOORAY. ,,,, Stupid me had not taken out the bolt that went through the top of the water pump, through the inner timing case and into the head. Thank goodness I had not used TOO much force at this stage ,as ive been caught before in my youth by the "Hidden bolt",,,,,,,,, Yes the old hidden bolt trick, nearly got me again.

As you are putting it all back together, there is a short 50mm or so by maybe 16mm id? coolant hose between the front of the block and the metal pipes that service the heater hoses on the passengers side. REPLACE THIS WITH A NEW ONE FFS! 🤪🤪

And restamp the engine number on the new head while its sitting on your work bench! Not in the car when you want to get a roady later on..

Thanks Mickhead, Yes i was going to replace that short little hose ,, but the Eng. # I would have definitely missed.
