    GU Camper Conversion

    G'day guys, I have a querie.

So I thought I'd ask some guys in the know.
I want to turn a rolling GU shell into a Towable camper.
Mate did it with a GQ but mounted the shell onto a frame he made out of RHS steel

However, I want to know if I can use the suspension and diff I already have on my rolling GU, it will be cut from the pillar between front and rear doors. Will it move freely if it has no drivtrain? Or will I have to make a frame and customise it to fit suspension?
Or can I just cut it and weld a front face cap and keep everything connected to the rear setup minus working brakes of course...
    Apologies for the novel

Be good or be good at it blokes

You will have to make the front frame section only, towards the tow point. I see no problem in using the stock frame (back part) nor the suspension, but I myself would not use the GU diff. Unnecessary weight to be hauling around and lesser ground clearance then a trailer axle.
