The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Looks like a nice rig. I think I'll have to keep under the 25k mark though unfortunately

Ok, let's have a quick side note on the infamous zd30.
How much of an improvement is the CRD over the Di? Does a CRD still want playing with to make it safe and worry free?
I lump them all together in a big grey fuzzy no go zone but I don't know the facts

QUESTION: Is a non turbo TD42 comparable to a Toyota non turbo 1HZ to drive. Recently I have had the daily use of an old Toyota ute with a 1HZ & it has been an absolute joy to drive, especially off road. Used to have one in a Troopy & this has reminded me of what a great torquey , just so easy to drive motor, the motor pulls from virtually nothing. Start it & put it in gear & I could reverse out the shed without touching the accelerator! Admittedly the lower Toyota gearing helps, but I'm wondering if a pre-turbo TD42 motor is a similar beast.
