89 GQ Flat Tray Rear Diff

Hey all. So yea bit of a problem with back end of my ol' Patrol, long story short, wheel bearing failed while on road, not a very nice site. Anyway problem atm is diff seams ok inside but axle on right hand side is shot, and axle housing ie bit on end of diff that unbolts isn't real happy either (not really up there with tech terms lol, kinda just learning as I go). Now best bit is cause it's a leaf sprung diff I'm having problems finding parts, second hand or new. Now shes 89 GQ 4.2L diesel short wheel base Ute leaf sprung all round. Could anyone give a bit of input or know of anyone that may have spares for sale or know of any info that may help.

    Thanks n cheers

The early GQ leafy rear ends should be easy to find
Many of the ute lads, usually swap over to coil suspension

So the leafy stuff is usually cheap, just not easy to find , for the above reason

New parts, either of the above mentioned should help

Thanks blokes. Hey MQ MAD thanks for that info, handy to know this stuff. Well I guess I'd like to keep the leaf suspension but could someone enlighten me as to what benefits are gained going from a leaf sprung diff to coil. Is it to do with more flex or something like that? (Sorry if this question has been asked elsewhere, if so I haven't stumbled upon it yet, and it may be a bit of a newbie question but I'm new to 4x4 and tend to ask questions lots) Also I'm guessing there is a fair bit of work in a conversion?

Thanks Macca looking into that eBay post. I guess this is a really stupid question but does anyone know what diff I actually have and how could I tell lol? (again apologize in advance for newbie questions) eBay post is for an 06 GU leaf sprung H266 diff drum brakes, would this bolt straight onto my 89 GQ ute?

Mate no such thing as a stupid question here. As far as i know the diff will be wider not a lot but wider, also it would most likely have coil mounts, but a diff or steel fabricator will be able to modify

Glad there no such thing as stupid questions lol. Just looking at the pics of the 06 GU diff, it says leaf sprung and I can see the leafs in the pic, so just out of curiosity does that still mean that the diff would have coil mounts? (and yes I know, I should ask the seller, but again I like asking questions)
