Adjusting the door handles on a GQ Patrol

Ok so while I have the door off and stripping for new paint i have taken a couple of pics.

Do you have a door handle that hardly works? That you have to pull up hard ans it just opens. Typical of the old Ford Handles. My rear doors are a shocker for this.

So today while stripping the front passenger Door I stumbled on thr adjustment for this. Easy fix.

On the front doors this linkage goes from the door handle down to the mechanism.

The bottom white section is threaded and you simply screw it up or down to lengthen it and tighten the linkage connection. This will make the handle function perfectly.

So remove the inside door trim and you will find this clearly visible in the door. Fluck the top locking clip up ans then simply turn that white piece.

    Longest

Shortest. You can see the rod sticking through the base

On the back doors it's the same. On mine though the ring this pushes on was bent so I simply bent it back up ans fixed the door.

    I bent this ring up.

The ring is identical to the front doors too. Easy gents.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
