    power aerial

recently i bought a new radio mast. After fitting it, it refuses to go anywhere near fully down. So i took the motor assembly out ,found a bit of the old plastic thing in there, so took it out put it back together and it still won't go down. Can anyone tell me what i've missed please?

Probably no help JMan but I gave up on electrical fang dangling rubbish years ago, clothes coat hangers down under work the best for both AM talkback & FModulated boogie time

Thanks MB. Nice mod's. But you're right ,not much help. I like the door handle. Reminds me of Mr. Bean and the lock on his Mini. Lucky i'm an A.M. talkback and F.M modulated sort of guy.

I think from memory you can't just plug it in and it will work. Pretty sure you need to set the motor, without the aerial, at the off postion (so the motor has wound itself in) then put the aerial in and turn of the radio for the aerial to come up. I did this many moons ago and it was a pain to get right. Now, mines just in the down position and unplugged and I have a whip antenna on the bar.

Ah! Thanks Mudski, i knew there would be a trick to it. I'll have a go on the weekend. Thanks again. If i can't get it right i'll probably just use a whip aeriel like everone else.
