Manual Shifter remove, dust boot replace clean and re-grease

    Hi,

I have bought a new dust boot and remove the shifter, cleaned it up and wanting to know what grease would be suitable to lube the parts again and how much to chuck in there.

I was thinking of using some marine grease that I have which does help to repel water and wont break down as quick? Thoughts?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Mike

A small amount of wheel bearing grease will be fine. Or your marine grease. As long as its not Lithium based, the black grease, this will prematurely wear out the plastic bush. Doesn't need much in there.
