Daily driver problem looking for help.

    Hi all,

My daily driver is a 2016 Ford Territory. I've got a bit of a problem and hoping its not a serious issue and someone out there may know the issue.
Yesterday evening I put my key in the ignition and turned it to "on" to lower the front windows. I was distracted at the time and left the key turned to on, not realising for a few hours when I looked for my key. Removed the key and left the car unlocked with windows down overnight.
Now this morning the remote won't lock or unlock the car and the key in the ignition gives me absolutely nothing.
Any ideas or advice please? I may disconnect the battery for 15 minutes to see if that resets anything?
Could that cause it's own issues?

Leaving the key on for a couple of hours won't hurt anything else. I'd go with dead battery...

Yeah thanks guys. I'm on a ford forum too and that's the concensus. I wasn't running anything while it was switched to on but apparently ecu runs away in the background sucking juice.
    I'm a stooge

Batteries are like politicians. When asked to do real work, they gladly pass the onus on to someone else.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Haha windows is now up and running again. All I had to do was turn it off and jump start it on again!
