Glow plug timer
Hi all I’ve seen some old posts regarding aftermarket glow plug timers on ZD30’s. I’ve got a 2003 model that I converted to a TD42T and was until today unaware that my glow plugs are staying on for 5 minutes after startup. Am I going to do any damage and should I be putting a timer in it? Appreciate any thoughts on this.

Legendary
Hey mate, not ideal to have them running all that time, imagine plugs wouldn't last that long and potentially not great for the head putting too much heat in little spots on a regular basis. I put a Boggart timer in my converted TD and works well.

Thanks. That’s what I was thinking too. I was completely unaware of it until yesterday. Another thought I had was that any time I have the ignition on to power things up or to diagnose something glow plugs will be on. I’ll be getting onto this ASAP. Thanks again
