    K.I.S.S Camping/Travelling Simplicity Ideas -Anyone?

Has anyone got any back to basics camping ideas they’d like to share?

Kindly educated to me here was GVM/GCM work issues a little while ago that a simple stove top slapped down on the old ute tray side would have to legally suffice over my crazy grand kitchen slide out plans once wanted but not truly needed

Seem to recall tonight @mudski Old Mate did once make a ripper custom plywood slimline sheet/cutting board that when his GU wagon rear drawer/s were trackside open became their family tucker preparation station too

Ditch the engel, cool your cans in the river.
Ditch fresh food and pack a heap of braised steak and onions cans.
Don't worry about cooking equipment, put the cans in the coals.
Ditch the rooftop camper and roll out a swag.
Don't need a seat, find a log to sit on.
Umm......trying to think of more things I did as an 18yo!

Oi you asked for K.I.S.S. ideas. Can't get much more raw and simple from when we started out. Actually ditch the Patrol and chuck a slab on your handlebars and ride the treadly out into the bush for a campfire and beer only night with your best mate both underage! About as simple as it gets!

You’ve given me Flashbacks thanks Plassy Mate
Back in simpler times one of our Old Man’s Bestest Mates invented the greatest camping tool ever proclaimed and it was in the day honestly brilliant I believe now too
    ‘Jeff/Geoff’s Tool”
Only about 4 ever produced and always overheard the production line millionaires to future cash cows be
Looked a little like this scribble from memory:

10mm IIRC black steel rod 180 degree bent twice with a say 40Nb pipe slightly flattened then welded over atop
Insanely handy device for Billy/Oven fire removal and Cast Frypan pipe over pickup etc…. Packing up camp ⛺️, ripper thing yoinked out tent pegs from a near standing position too

Hahahaa, I think that’s how we all used to roll back in the day.

Bury your beers, pour petrol and light it up for the win

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

I used to camp solo and loved the simplicity.

These days I've got a family of 5 and a dog, things are as complicated as they get.
