The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

So it's Front Bar time. I chose the Rhino bar. Hoopless and sexy. What is not to like.

I have shot a heap of video and will be doing a warts and all video of the fit up. Let me premise that by saying NEVER AGAIN!. Take My Money!!!! Pay someone. I have PTSD.

I learnt a heap but fitting for $700 somewhere is A Bargain!!!

The instructions were a disgrace. The kit was a train wreck at every turn. Wrong. Wrong and wrong! Did I mention Wrong!

First I had to figure out how to remove the front bumper. Wing it I did!

The kit above was a joke! Half of that lot was wrong and not used. Fortunately I have a good stock of Metric bolts cause this kit was incorrect over and over again. Bloody frustrating I have to say.

I mounted a Runva XP13 at the same time.

A lack of mountings meant I had to harvest the factory mounts. Buying new factory mounts would have been better... or just put a set in the kit right!!!!! It's not like it was cheap!!!

The Rhino bar has integrated Recovery points which is nice.

Aligning the bar was a NIGHTMARE!!!

Cutting and fixing the inner guard was simply not even mentioned in the instructions. Not dealt with at all. I had to Magiver the shit of out that.

    Bash plates that didn't fit.....

    Agonisingly frustrating to fit.

Once the pain was over I backed it out of the shed. Seriously, for $700 do yourself a favour! Pay someone.

Stoked with the final product though.

    Happy days.

Thanks mate. Yes the front plate is on a flip up hinge. Not sure I like it but that's the way it is. Looks neat but I wonder what it will do on a deep river crossing. I cam see it flipping up and getting ripped off. I have it as tight as I can and it still functions.

C'Mon Darren, that princess machine isn't going to go swimming! How could you do that? I think the spring holding the plate down will be fine, coupled with the pivot shaft. Looks great i reckon, very tailored and sleek.
