    G60 Patrol vs Simpson Desert

    Hi All,

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Steve (Swerve) and am a self pronounced Nissan Patrol G60 nut and am lucky to have a wife putting up with this obsession.

Anyhow I mainly hang out on www.rmp-o.com as it’s all G60’s and we have been planning a Simpson Desert G60 trek for a few years. We pulled last years trip as to many of us had family engagements in the way, anyhow this year is on starting from 25th Sept at Broken Hill.

So we have 5 x Nissan G60 Patrols doing the trip from stock to modified and a number of other friends labelled support cars.

Anyhow we have planned a basic loops from Broken Hiil, Innamincka, Walkers Crossing track (pending), Birdsville, Simpson, Mt Dare, Oodnadatta Track, Flinders Ranges and Broken Hill. We have a split convoy from Melbourne and Sydney hence Broken Hill start/ finish.

    Full details here - http://www.rmp-o.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3176

So if you see a G60 out west in Sept say hello as we always love a chat about G60's

Thanks for the post Steve, they are still a tough looking old Rig even in today's day & age.......

We'd love to see any pic's & video's you'll have from your trip & what a sight it would be to see a parade of G60's trekking across the Simpson....

    Cheers mate

20 years ago, I did my apprenticeship with a bloke who's dad had one, he used to call it the Scud cause it went like a rocket and came apart in pieces. Great old beast.
