    Rear L/H door won't open

    As the title says.

It first won't open from the inside. My son was already at the said door so I told him to open it from the outside and it did and then I told him to check the child lock instead he flipped the switched on and closed it. Now I'm pretty sure the child lock is on so it can't be opened from the outside either.

How can I get it open.. Is there anyway to remove the trim while the door is closed??

Any way of getting a thin piece of wire or something in between the door seal to the child lock?

I went and checked on the other side. Don't really like the chances, my finger is where the switch is right next to the trim miles away from the edge of the door.

You might have to remove the door trim on the other door and do a mock coat hanger run via the window seal and see if you can open the door this way.

Looking at it again might be able to get to it from the inside.

If you do end up getting it open, disconnect the child lock.

John I just went out and replicated your problem, child lock activated so it wasn't openable from inside. Get yourself some stiff wire like coathanger wire. Put a 90 degree end on it about 5mm long. Slip it behind the door seal from inside, hook the seal and pull it inwards until you can grab it with your fingers. Pull the seal inwards and you'll just see the child lock. With a bit of dicking around I got the 90 degree bend at the head of the wire behind the switch and pushed it to the unlock position. Took me 5 minutes.

    Thanks mate

With your starting point I actually found it even easier just by pulling the door seal out.

    Job done.

Now to pull the trim off to see why it won't open from the outside
