Gearbox earth strap
Gu 2000 coil cab ute .I was under my vehicle yesterday and noticed an earth cable on the left side of the gearbox .It ha broken off at the opposite end .I looked extensively and cant locate the position where its broken away from ,anyone know where the cable is supposed to be connected .?thanks .Kev. The cable is bolted under the left gbox mount bolt ,other end is just hanging.

Definitely a black shielded copper cable ,bolted to the gearbox housing .My gbox breather is located up under the bonnet along with my diff and transfer case breathers on extended lines .

Its not original. Just get a new cable and replace it then to anywhere on the body.

Local 4x4 mechanic says it standard. Cable is bolted under the left gbox mounting bolt ,just can't see where the other end is supposed to go .Took pics but dont know how to post pics .

Standard or not. Just buy a new earth cable from your local Supercrap, Repco etc and bolt it on. Doesn’t matter if you can’t find where the old one went. As long as it’s from the gearbox to the body it will be fine.
