This is a pic of my recently removed dash. It was a long time ago but I’m pretty sure I got the reverse signal from the yellow wire coming from the middle blue relay on the left.
You’ll need to drop the glovebox.

If the camera is at the back and needs power which then feeds the camera and the screen then take it straight off the reverse globe at the rear. Relay if you are concerned. Take the opportunity while.you are there to relay in a camp light/reverse light too.

You have to run a wore to the front from cam to screen anyway so take it from the back.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Here's how I wired up my reverse camera, taking the feed to trigger the head unit from the same yellow wire in the passenger footwell that @jff45 mentions.

    Agree ^^^^

Yellow wire on passenger side loom is easiest if picking up the trigger from the front of the vehicle.
