    GU TD42t

Hi so I was thinking of buying a TD42turbo off of someone with an engine bay that looks like this
    https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/det...SE-AD-7205245/
Is this how a GU TD42 turbo engine bay should look like or does it mean it's engine swapped
    Cheers

Looks like a TD42 N/A manual transplanted into a Ti 4500. Just look at the VIN plate on the firewall, it will show the original engine.

Yeah. 100% is a converted patrol. It would have been a 4.5 Ti spec patrol prior to the conversion. It has a Silvertop rd42 which was available from 1988 to about 1994. So not a factory turbo but will handle a decent turbo setup.

Yep, it's a conversion. The dead giveaway is where he's written in the vehicle description "It has been converted to 4.2 diesel 220000 on motor 5 speed, 190000 on gearbox"
The car is listed as having 350,000 kms on it, so the conversion was done probably 6 or 7 years ago.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Being originally a Ti model I would have expected it to have an Auto originally too. Check that it has been registered as a TD42. Sounds like he has not finished the conversion. Priced pretty well though.
