    TD42 vs ZD30 bellhousing

    Hi folks

TD42 GQ Safari auto spat it's gearbox dummy out a bit at the weekend (drive suddenly went intermittent and I had to be recovered). I dropped the pan and looks like a clogged filter so I've ordered a replacement but the writing is on the wall for the auto.

I've been planning to do a manual conversion the next year or two and so I'm going to press ahead and get it done. The main issue I'm having is trying to locate a TD42 bellhousing as they are a bit scarce in the UK (with or without gearbox). I know I can use a ZD30 gearbox and that a ZD30 bellhousing fits the TD but needs a bit of fettling to fit the starter.

Apart from drilling and tapping new holes can anyone give me some specifics on what else would need to be done to a ZD30 bellhousing?

    Many thanks
