    GQ Auto

    Hi All,
I have recently purchased a nice condition GQ Safari. If I select Drive in the auto box, the car wants to move off in a high gear. When I manually change the gears all is ok and when warmed up the problem with drive goes away but returns the next day. Has anyone got any suggestions as to where i should start looking for a fix for this.
    Cheers
    Lance

If the box has gone into “limp” mode, it starts in 3rd because the A & B shift solenoids get deactivated. There should be a procedure (I’m not familiar with GQs) to read the fault codes which should give you an idea where to start looking.
