A week in the high country

So I spent last week in the high country. Here's a bit of a run down.

The first 2 days saw a good coverage of snow and sub zero temperatures and some sunny days for the last 4 days.
And gale force winds on night 2..

    Night 1 - McMichaels hut
    Night 2 - Bluff Hut
Night 3 - Upper Jamieson hut
Night 4 - Upper Jamieson hut
    Night 5 - Lake Cobbler
    Night 6 - Kings Campground

Did some awesome tracks including Twin mile jeep track, Mt Stirling powerline track, and Blue Rag Range track. Was too wet to do Billy Goat bluff track.

All up just a little over 1250km return trip.
Best thing was I stopped at the car wash on the way home to get some of the dirt, dust and mud off, unloaded it and was ready for daily duties the next day.

John I keep coming back to this thread. I'm envious. A lot. May not seem a lot to much but one of my "bucket list" things for me is spending a week or two just touring our beautiful Victorian High Country. I'd love to have two weeks to just travel around the VHC at my will. My Patrol is nearly 100% ready for it. I just need to accumulate enough leave from work to do it.

    Thanks for sharing.

@mudski I'll jump back in the trol tomorrow and do it all over again if I could.

We covered a fair bit of dirt over the week and didn't really feel that we were rushing. We talked about doing a longer trip and all agreed that every 4 or so days a night in a caravan park or similar and pub meal would be nice.

The guy that arrange it has done 6 or 7 similar trips and keeps refining it.

Guys feel free to watch the other videos on my YouTube channel..

    I hate you John.

    ...Wait no I don't. Envious I am.
Seriously mate. Your trip sounds and looks amazing. I've returned, re-watched, re-looked, re-read yours and @MB s recent High Country threads multiple times as i cant get enough of that scenery.
As you and @mudski mentioned. Heading up there really needs serious casual time to drive around and absorb the place. Every time I've been up there it's been more or less a blur. Quickly do some tracks, camp, rinse and repeat. See 5% and miss 95...
I really want to run up and do Blue rag before this years closures. We'll see if I can execute.
