    EGR Pipe Removal, Any ideas

    Hey Guys,

    Need to replace my EGR Pipe. Has anyone done it by themselves at home? Looks like a nightmare as the pipe runs around the back of the engine. Any tips/ pointers

    Morning Flex.
    Yes I've done it when I had the 3L CRD. My one split and was doing my head in under boost.
    Get to as many bolts as you can evening before the job and soak the living s#it out of them in CRD or similar.
    While doing the job, make sure sensitive people aren't around you as you will be inventing numerous new swear words...
    Sorry those are the 2 hints that come to mind it's been 8 years since I done the job.

    Hodge,

    Do you remember how you removed the pipe once you un-bolted it? Was it straight up?

    Sorry Flex honestly cannot remember...
    Don't quote me on this...
    But I think I may have even taken the Saber saw to one end and then slide it out the other side.

    My knuckles still ache from the job. I remember that though.

    6eah I left mine there for years with a blanking plate at the inlet end. Was fine. When I didnthe fuel pump ans injectors I removed it finally by cutting it with a safer saw in a few spots. Good luck getting it out with the motor in. Do you want to remove or replace.
    Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!! ....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

    The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

    I really want to replace it. If you block one end can't water still get in the other end (via the crack) Unless you can buy blanking plates for both sides...
