I think I may have seen XL canopies on later 3 litre Telstra Patrols, but I'm not certain. Mine is a Rosscos. Telstra 4.2's, of my vintage at least were either Rosscos or Obeico. Fairly similar, but the Rosscos has a folding driver side door & the Obeico as a 2 piece driver side door. Each had a different design for the drop down twin spares. Both very similar though

Mashable/Crackable, was seriously considering a fibreglass tray top years ago for next podder gnarlier adventures and weight savings too.
One of our contractors rolled up into depot some years back without his Landcrab $10,000 electric lockable canopy because the boys clipped it again and insurance had given up!

Was done in April '13. It was a Lovells kit with approval for the 3 litre engined Patrol Cab Chassis, fitted by an approved Lovells dealer - Morwell Springworks, & engineered by Stephen Churches (from Sale I think) , required because the approvals did not include 4.2's, even though the rest of the vehicle was identical. Made 'easier' because Stephen Churches was already familiar with the Lovells Kits from those fitted to Patrols at Loy Yang mine. As I understand it, I was the first to have retrospective upgrade in Victoria done like this. MB have sent you a PM.

Between the two I guesstimate now they had the same payload between setups FWIW

2006 coil cabs have 3150kg GVM and when I did the Cape a few years ago was 90kg over weight with full fuel (180lt) and water tanks (150lt). The existing canopy is quite heavy so aluminum replacement should be a bit lighter. Also considering ditching winch which has only been used once in anger to get some Japanese shelias in a Mazda all wheel drive out of trouble on Fraser near barge at the Creek ramp.
At the end of the day, all you have is yourself and all you need is your friends (and in our case our Patrol)

We are happy with the build and finish on our canopy from “My Toolbox” in Brendale QLD.
Lots of custom options, we were ok with the price as well. Worth a look. Made on their premises, not China.
Cheers
I rang them before Xmas and will be talking to them in next few weeks when I visit Brisvagas.
