    60L fridge ram

I installed one of these units on my old 60L after tiring of the lid smacking my head. The ram is a 100n unit from the strut shop. The engel hinges are quite sloppy, so on the 60L fridge the closing action puts the lid slightly off square, however its a simple push to straighten it up, or I might look at a different hinge on the lid. the unit is fixed using nutserts.ram 1.JPGRam 2.JPG

I found a set of heavy hinges with bearings on line today that are only 30mm wide so have ordered a pair to replace the removable Engels hinges that have too much slop. I have very rarely needed to remove the lid in over 25 yrs so think this will work well. The 100newton rams are perfect. Funny enough the smaller 40l Engels have a kit with 150newton thrust and the door is lighter.
