    Tb42e TCU nissan consult

    Hi,

I'm trying to establish connection and diagnose problem with automatic transmission in TB42e.

I heard that it should support nissan consult as ECU does. However, I cannot initialize it and get any response.

Can you help me? Anyone knows some initialization hex and sample requests/commands that this TCU supports?

    Best regards,
    Marcin

I have not came across anyone that has pulled information from the transmission itself and highly doubt you will

What year model TB42E and what auto gearbox issues are you having?

Have you tried the self diagnostic system? If so what error do you get?

This was possible with the TB45E using Ecutalk and Scantech software. I don't know if the TB42E also had this possibility.
The TB45E ECU has data lines connected to the TCU so the data is read from the ECU.

This is a Scantech readout of my trans that I did from my TB45E ECU after I mated the trans to my current TD42T engine and wanted to be sure that the TCU was getting a correct RPM signal.

I assume TB42E ECU has data lines connected to the TCU so the data is read from the ECU as well but not sure if anyone has pulled data from it like in your pic, still won't help 2 much in fault finding. I'm pretty sure I have a screenshot of the ECU talk software and I was running it on my GQ, will have 2 do some hunting around

I could be wrong, just don't recall it. Certainly didn't help when my auto gave up that's for sure

The car is 1992 and has 4gear auto transmission. Now, the problem is that it might work in some "service mode" because only one gear is used, probably 3rd. I found info in manual that it is possible to diagnose transmission by observing power light but it doesn't show anything after running sequence from manual. So now I'm trying with consult...

It will be in 3rd because that’s limp mode. The shift solenoids aren’t used in 3rd.
As a last resort, if you’re able to use a multimeter, you can test the solenoids from the TCU plug.
