tb42 to td42 engine conversion wiring loom

hi all. just doing a tb42 to a td42 engine conversion. just wondering if there is much difference in looms between the two. would a simple "push button" for the glow plugs be all that i need to change or is there more to it than what i'm reading in posts.

    thanks heaps in advance

I don't know if there is a difference between the petrol and diesel wiring looms.
If you were wanting to keep things simple then you could do as you suggested and run the glow plugs off a very simple circuit with a momentary push button switch. Being a high current circuit you would need a relay and obviously the circuit would also need a fuse.

The factory glow control unit is basically a timer with a coolant temp sensor input so it can adjust the glow time to suit engine temperature. It still operates a relay to activate the glow plugs.
