Inbuilt microphone replacement - Head unit

I have purchased and installed a 'MP5' branded head unit, which I got off eBay.

Everything works OK except for the microphone when making or receiving Bluetooth calls.
The mic is just not very sensitive, and I need to replace it.

Can anyone tell me if these little inbuilt mics can be replaced easily?

Appreciate any help I can get

Many head units have an "external mike" connector at the rear. This allows you to purchase an up market mike and place it in a more suitable place.

Just installed a new mic on mine. GU 1 came with a relatively new JVC head unit but no mic. Went to Jaycar and bought their "lapel mic" which was recommended by the guy working there with no complaints. Cost me $20. Tested it out the other day and no issues.

Head unit has a mic-in 3.5mm jack which this plugged right into. The centre face plate has a little vent in the bottom right hand corner which seems like it was made for this kind of thing. Wrapped some double-sided tape around the mic and sat it in just enough so it didn't foul against the front grate. its actually aimed upward to point toward the driver - very nifty.
