TI GQ radio with amp wiring plus reverse wire location

I’ve looked at the old thread about Radio wiring diagram for the 1996 TI GQ with ampL. But I can’t follow the post about the “extra wire” for the amp.

Basically going to remove the factory double din, pp-2114h radio. It has three plugs, not the standard two as expected by the adapter harness to iso converters You can buy.

Secondly I want to install a reversing camera. Where’s the best place to pick up the wire to the reverse light? I’ve traced it back from the tailgate to where it seems to enter the cabin right under the passenger seat, not sure where it goes from there. I could tap into there and run a new wire, but picking it up in the cabin would be easier.

    Oh

It’s a 1996 it gq patrol, but re engined with a 4.2td. So wiring is a bit of a mishmash, but I’m resuming radio wiring hasn’t been altered.

You can buy Nissan to ISO adapters at JB HiFi. Once you have that it is easy to get standard ISO wiring diagrams. There are two types of Patrol adapters. Good idea to take a photo of yours along when you buy one.

Those iso wirings adapters are for the two plug radio, this has three. Apparently two of them are the same, and I presume the third is for the amp.

OK - I am looking at an adapter now and you are right - it is two Nissan to two ISO plugs. They are the two right hand side plugs in your picture. Don't know what the left one does. Being a TI does it have a CD changer or something like that?

From other threads - it’s for the amp which drives the rear speakers
