09 Gu crd starting issue help
I recently purchased a 09 gu crd. It has 270kms on the clock and has a full service history. When I bought it, it took a couple of winds to start. Maybe a little more than normal. Over a few weeks it became worse. To the point where is was taking 10-15 seconds of winding before it would start. It also didn’t matter if it was hot or cold. Now it doesn’t start at all unless I use aerostart. When started it goes fine. I replaced the fuel filter and bleed the line and bang it started fine with no Aerostart. I waited until the next day and the problem seemed fixed. I’ve left it for another few day’s and now the problem is back. It won’t start without the aerostart now again. When it’s running it goes fine. Before I changed the filter it threw 2 codes. - p1089 fuel pump performance and p0093 fuel leak detected. Since it temporarily fixed it with a new filter is it safe to assume there is a air in the line making that leak? Please help

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the fuel rail pressure relief valve. Nissan’s said I had to buy the whole rail but I was able to get the valve on its own from overseas. I can’t remember what code the fault gave to know if it is the same.

Sounds suspiciously like the Pressure Relief Valve on the Fuel Rail to me too ... a bit of a consensus for you

Not the fuel pump on the way out? CRD will not start until all injectors obtain even fuel pressure of approx 140MPa (20,000psi). This is why it can take several seconds of cranking to fire up because all have to come up to pressure.
May be worthwhile to arrange for an SME to conduct a return fuel leaking test.
