Wanted - GQ Driver seat base only - Melb SE preferred

I am looking for a GQ drivers seat base - dont need the back, so i can work out how to mount my drivers seat to the bostrum suspension base I was using with a Recaro seat. I will be sorting out the details around the mount and would prefer to not hack up the existing seat base which is perfect. The 5klm radius rule from Knox is probably going to be the killer though - thought i would ask the impossible anyway. if not i will hit up a wrecker in Bayswater tomorrow before they are forced to shutdown for 6 weeks.

Give phil at the 4wdShed a call, he might have an old Crappy one out of one of his race cars hanging around mate. Tell him you are going to hack it up so dont want a good one and he might sort you out.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Thanks Darren, rang and spoke with Phil, he doesn't have anything and also rang hall4x4 but they oonly have good seats at $150, have not tried PAP yet but they are outside the 5klm radius of lockdown, so can't get there anyway. Will have to put this on the backburner for now it seems. Shame as have the time to resolve.

OK, struck out with PAP as well, so launched into modifications to the existing seat rails - what a drama, am in a load of pain right now, the assy is a total nightmare. thought i had it sussed late today, however the seat is too high inside the cabin, so tomorrow start on plan K! Its like two rectangles at right angles that are too large in one direction and too short in the other, so i can't slide one down and over the top to lower the height - something to ponder overnight I think.

OK, its done, full day of brain twists and fades, but the seat is now sitting at the same height as the original on the base, and its level as well. Tomorrow the whole lot will come out, get painted and the rubber skirt added to hide the arms etc. One small job remaining is to modify the seat travel arm as I had to cut and re-align it to clear the brackets. pretty happy with the result but didn't look like it was going to happen. the trick was to get the original base mounts off the slides, then level the slides up - not apparent until i got into it.
