2007 GU Wagon rear brake caljper rebuild kit

    G'day all,

I've been searching high and low for any information on if the rear caliper has the same size piston, dust seal and slide boots as the front.

I've been looking for rebuild kits, but for less parts than the front, it's more expensive.

I have been using Online Auto Parts for pretty much all of my spares. Just this week I have done the front wheel bearings and swivel hubs (cursing at the king pin cups), rekitted the front calipers, new slotted and dimpled discs and bendix pads.

This all came about because I wanted to replace the brakes discs and pads, so while I was in there I thought I might as well freshen her up with new bearings. After removing the calipers, I tried to push the pistons out. Very stiff, so I rebuilt and painted them charcoal.

Now on to the back end. Gonna bung a new set of bearings in there too and may as well throw a kit in the calipers. If the piston is the same size as the front, I'll just get one side of the front. $20 for 1 side of the front, or $45 for 2 sides specifically for the rear.

Got Toro rotors and Bendix pads to go on.

    Cheers for any info.

    Lionel

Being a 2007 surely you wont need to put a kit through the calipers. As for piston size. I don't think they are the same. I think its a bigger piston in the rear as they are a single pot job on the rears.

    Too easy. Thanks mate!

I'll probably throw a kit in there anyways. Give me something to do
