'08 CRD 4 speed auto oil capacity and 40k service

Anyone know how much oil the 4 speed auto takes on an '08 CRD. It's not in the book( neither are the diffs or transfer capacities)

Also, does the transmission oil have to be changed at 40k service. The book states it does only on commercial vehicles and under harsh(towing, muddy, dusty rough) conditions .

I thought it's a must so I'm going to change it anyway but thought I might be able to clarify

    Cheers
    Kris

Have you downloaded the GU manual Andy posted in the DIY section I recon it would have the info you require in that.

As for when to change it? I would recommend to follow the commercial vehicles guide lines as our 4bys do work hard just dragging there own big fat ass around not to mention what else we do in them....lol

I did look at Andy's manual but its written around the European spec vehicle. Not even sure for which motor as the engine oil capacities are very different to the ones in the Australian maintenance book. There is no reference to the auto transmition either.

Most of the downloaded manuals don't have the CRD 2007+ reference

I will change the oil anyway.

Attached is a scan from my maintenance book.

    Cheers

This may help Kris. Just found it before but it could be handy for anyone else.

If you's like it then you can put it in an appropriate thread if you think its worth it.

    Hi guys try these links.
If you go to the site below then click on the 4wd/Light Commercial Link you'll get the recommended Caltex lubricants for all parts. Other oil companies may have a similar set up.
    http://www.caltex.com.au/ProductsAnd...OilFinder.aspx

    Also heres the castrol site
    http://www.datateck.com.au/lube/castr_au/default.asp
enter in your vehicle and engine and you should get a rough capacity guide.

    Hope this helps

    Hey Kris

Here's a useful website link. Put in all your info and it should tell u what bits and pieces are needed to be done for the service.
