Gu stops randomly while driving
I recently purchased a 2002 GU turbo diesel patrol. Lately while I’ve been driving the engine cuts out and all the accessory lights show up on the dash. As soon as I turn the key off and try to start it again it starts straight away. Any ideas?
All of the fuel side of things have already been looked into

Stops as in total engine shut down? Or just losing power but still runs.

Worn ignition perhaps, it loses contact inside - similar to switching off the ignition with the key

Definitely sounds electrical. Mine did the same with all lights on dash, but didn’t occur whilst driving. Instead it just wouldn’t turn the motor over to start, even though the battery was good on the multimeter. I thought ‘ignition switch’ & got as far as making up a wiring alternative to bypass the ignition switch (we were alone in a remote area). It worked the first time I tried, & feeling a bit chuffed with myself, and relieved, I demonstrated it to my concerned wife. Or tried to, it failed again. No start & all dash lights on. Turned out to be a really dirty connection on the battery terminal. No idea how it got all black & funky, but cleaning it up fixed the problem. I’m guessing you have a bad connection somewhere. Check from the battery onward. Don’t assume like I did that a tight connection necessarily means it’s a good connection! Of course it could also be the ignition switch.
