    Nissan / Airtec Snorkel head

Does anyone know if there is a different head that can fitted onto the Nissan / Airtec snorkels. They look terrible and don't seem large enough.

Alternatively, does anyone know if you can replace the Nissan / Airtec snorkel with a Safari? Do the holes match up???

    Thanks.

What size is the snorkel where the ram head sits on? I get the Yota with their 79's come into my work a bit wanting to change the Toyota bowl setup to a Donaldson ram head. So we just need the pipe size to work out what you need.

That sounds great Mark. The problem with the Airtec is that body of the snorkel follows the A pillar and the bend is in the head. So if you try to put a different head on it, the inlet ends up staring up at the sky.

I measure the diameter of the part that the head slips over as being 87mm.

Ok so we'll say its 89mm, 3 1/2 inch. Theres not a whole lot you can do here. The only option I see is get a 45 degree adaptor which is 89mm ID to slip over the snorkel, then its 89mm OD then you can fit a standard Donaldson snorkel. In the hope that 45 degrees is what you require to see the snorkel head straight.

Mate had an adapter made up (for his Tojo) at the local exhaust shop a few years ago. Might be worth a try?

I've stumbled onto a bloke who prints up snorkel adapters on a 3D printer. I'm working with him to see what we can come up with.

He prints the adaptors out of ABS and does something with acetone to make them stronger.

G'day Cuppa. That's what this blokes adaptors are for, so you can fit a pre-cleaner. As an example:
