Traveled 412klms on 72.80l of diesel which gave me 17.66L per 100klm
Traveled 553klms on 109.17L of diesel which gave me 19.74L per 100klm

So over the 2508klms with the CT in tow for 85% of it I averaged 18.48L per 100 klm

Really with the CT on board I'm happy with those numbers but the thing so far is without the CT the numbers aren't that different. I'm going to take the roof rack off as well to see what that does for me.

Hmmm, not the best figures I've seen but definitely not the worst either.
Unfortunately the economy figures with the CRD's are a bit of a lottery .

Hope the trip went well anyways.

And to add to my fuel consumption issues the turbo is making some nice noises as are one (or more) of the bearings in the pulleys at the front of the motor so it has to go back to Nissan....................ohhhhh the humanity!!

Can anyone tell me if the turbo needs to be replaced is there any benefit to upgrading the turbo without having to make exhaust or injectors/pump changes? In case u haven't guessed this is my 1st turbo motor...... ???

    Cheers

Here are some pics of the trip away.

Here are some pics of the Boolumba Creek Falls - I heard about these from reading another forum and they were worth the drive out - made a nice day trip.

There were 4 separate camp grounds around there which I will explore properly next time I'm there as it was flogging down too much to get out of the car.

Here we are at the top of the Blackall Ranges

And here is the set up at Maroochy Palms

And here are some shots taken down at Mooloolaba

    Cheers

    Finally, respectable fuel numbers!!!!!!!!!

Did 502klms between here and Sydney on 67.3L of diesel which gives me 13.4L per 100klm.......................not the best, but pretty much what I was aiming for at the start.

Those figures were done keeping up with the speed limit, no roofrack, chip express on tune 1(out of 4), deleted middle muffler and the 33" KM2s at 35PSI

    Cheers

Plus a turbo...........Nissan advised me today that my turbo noise is terminal and they will fit and supply a new one for the measly sum of $3218..........how lucky am I????

The above quote is using genuine parts and they will provide me with another quote using aftermarket stuff which should be cheaper. So we'll see what those are.

The service manager said he will make an application to Nissan to see if they are willing to pay for some of the cost - I've never heard of that for a car out of warranty but ya never know. It will be interesting to see Nissan's reply

I've already rung Berrima Diesel and they said they do not do any aftermarket stuff for the ZD30 so all they would do is buy genuine Nissan gear and use that - therefore they would be more expensive as they have to add their margin.

Does anyone know a workshop in Newcastle and surrounds that they would recommend to do the job?
