Well taking your lead, I looked up the Kelvin value for normal halogen and its smack on 3000, so that makes sense.

Decided on these. They are halogen and the wavelength should be better than the LEDS. Will see.

Those are exactly what I used to run in my GQ/GU Patrols except I used to get chinee knockoff rather than genuine Narva.
After slightly mod'ding the mount they would fit straight in the ARB bull bar.
I would get a cracked/smashed lens about once a year or so depending on how much time I spent on the gravel.
IIRC they were a fair bit cheaper a few years back and a quick look on the 'bay didn't show the ones I used to get at the time

About 20 years ago when I was driving the MK shorty, i had similar to these but were round and threw off a yellow light. Golf ball lights they were called from memory. Anyhoo, I had these mounted on the l & r steering knuckle so they would turn when you turned the steering wheel, was quite effective. But in turn, they copped a lot of abuse where they were...

Just saying would any of the HIDs penertrate the fog.
I had 100watt HID headlights . They cut through the
low cloud well I think they were 8000k . Ive removed
them as way too bright foe city driving.

I'm running 35w 3000k hid's in 2.5 inch projector lights, mounted in the bullbar. Going up over Hotham at night in cloud/blizzard when I first fitted them , turned them on and the headlights off = thought the fog had cleared and we were above the cloud - until I turned the headlights on again.
Never knew that fog lights could work so good.
partly because of the 3000k yellow light with good output, partly because of the cutoff control of projectors.

The small projectors are like the ones you show Pee Bee, they're the fogs.
The larger projectors are running 55w hid 4300k + hi/low gate as driving lights/secondary headlights.

That's interesting AB. I did have a pair of 2" projector lights and took them off as they got so damn hot I was worried about them melting the housing they were in. I will have another look at these. They are auto plutonium, https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/METAL-PR...-/121352954098

OK, mounted and partially wired up the narva set. I know why you pay so much for these - the detail is in the fittings, brass bushes on the pivots and a spring loadd alignment device like a standard headlight, clever. Anyway, power on tomorrow. happy with the location, should be protected enough I think.Fog lights - Narva.JPG

Found a quick picture snippet just now off the forum the last time we scrabbled down out of ‘Barkley River Jeep Track’ together aboard our 6.5NA compression grunters :-)

Yeah, you are probably right. I might shift them up onto the bar flat section, however will lose the 'hooks', but I can always use the bar tow points and shackles I suppose. Good point, would be pissed if I destroyed them first trip out.
