trouble getting power to fuel pump

hey guy just having trouble getting power to fuel pump brand new pump and had chip taken out and was running fine started playing up and wouldn't start just played around with the plugs and it was going again and now has stopped again and wont start up just wondering if anyone else has had this problem

What vehicle? What engine? Are you talking about a diesel or petrol? Are you talking about the lift pump or injector pump?
