    CD player Problems

    Hi
I have purchased a 2010 DX ute, good all round. The audio is great (but then I have always own old vehicles - so I cannot tell the difference) with bluetooth, USB, etc. All was working well until the CD unit started playing up. There is no CD in but sits saying READING for about a minute and then CHECKING until eventually nothing. If you try to put a CD in it spits it out and continues the same business.
I am assuming that it is a pull out and fix job but was wondering whether anyone else has had the same problem and may be have had a quick (or long) fix.
I probably would not worry about it but the volume is now at 1/2 mast and treble-y.
    Thanks, in advance
    Vic

Thank you for your prompt response.
The only thing it can read is a thumb drive and there is not one in. The messages only occur when I select the CD function. I forgot to mention, the small print at the top says CD IN whichever function is chosen and I think this causes the reduction in volume. The volume has to be set to max when listening to the radio.
