Praise to my new Dawes valve, best thing ever.
Bought my 2004 GU second hand, so never knew how it felt from new. 350K
From previous experience I fitted boost and EGT gauges.
Cruising at 110 Ks/hr boost settled at 4psi , EGT around 450C, economy 7ks/ltr , foot flat 7psi boost EGT when my nerve runs out take my foot off. Over 600C
Finally blocked EGR and fitted Dawes and needle valve,,,, wow, why didnt I do that sooner.
Cruising at 110ks boost settles at 10 psi , EGT 300C , economy 9ks/ltr , foot flat 14psi boost EGT below 500C, depends how long i hold it flat 450 to 500C

Yeah its amazing how well the combo of those two valves work. I'm still amazed to see how a lot of diesel mechanics refuse to use these and rely on ECU control for boost. These two valves will work on any vacuum controlled turbo Diesel.

Yep, best mod I've done I reckon, those valves, they made my truck much nicer to drive.
