Surging 2.8

G'day all,
I have a 97 GU 2.8 which has started surging under acceleration.
When normal acceleration in 2nd and 3rd mainly, it picking up as per normal, but acts like to was given a surge of power.

It's just starting, today, to run a little rough as I was driving home in top gear.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

The RD28 has few niggles but is generally an under-powered but reliable little engine. Maybe air is getting into the system, or the fuel filter is blocked.

There are plenty of threads dealing with such an issue you have described. Hopefully a diesel guru can offer you a better answer.
