    Y60 v. Y61 4.2TD

    Hi there,

I'm wondering what the differences between the Y60 and Y61 motors are? Specifically the 4.2TD, in terms of reliability. Is the Y60 as good a motor as the Y61 is? Looking at a '88 GQ Y60 with 250,000kms on the clock. I really wanted a GU Y61, simply because of the reputation for not being able to kill them, but would the Y60 be just as good? It's tempting given the low kms, which the vedor has assured me are original and not reconditioned kms (though, for the price, that is by the by). Obviously this is a general question, and assuming both motors would be in good repair and well maintained.

    Thanks.
