I'm in the same boat but the other way around . I just converted my patrol from a ZD30 to TD42T and its done 142k when it stopped . To get my tacho working i had to change the gauge cluster over which had 400k on it . Can anyone recommend me

Patrol God
you could put in a computerised trip meter off the shelf and use it for monitoring k's on motor. Same as rally cars run.

Might be an idea to make a couple of photo copies of the receipt and have a JP certify it as a true & accurate copy of the orriginal receipt, just in case you miss place the receipt one day.
Cheers,
Rob.

The Odometer reading is stored in the cluster because when my alternator had a melt down and fried my cluster the replacement i got from the wreckers had about 100 thousand more on it than the original one

My instrument cluster has been changed. The reading still shows what was shown on the new one. So I would think that it is not stored on the ECU
