ZD30 diesel reserve tank won't shut off when empty.
My diesel reserve tank won't shut off when empty. Car is a 2003 ZD30 Patrol. Reserve tank keeps trying to pump diesel even though empty. Any thoughts. Steve.

I am he, fear me
Is your Sub tank fuel qty Gauge accurate?
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Hmmm, interesting
The sub tank poota monitors the sub tank qty and should switch off the pump when it thinks the tank is empty
If the gauge is working OK then I would assume the sender and wiring is OK and suspect the "Sub Tank Control Unit".
But before any of that have you added any extra earth straps from the chassis to the body etc?
Patrols are notorious for earthing gremlins esp the Sub Tank System and an "extra" earth strap from the vicinity of the sub tank pump to the body will often get rid of weird faults maybe 75% of the time

Thanks for that I'll try an earth strap and see if it helps. Steve.
