New lad with a GU zd30 that won't start

G'day guys,
Just lumped myself with a 2004 GU zd30 that won't start.
Fairly mechanically minded so i'm hoping to get this girl running and dive into the world of patrol's while I'm at it.

Mechanic said it wasn't getting fuel to the injectors.
Got a mate who will plug it in and check the code, from what i've heard and read it's usually an injection pump replacement. But better to give it a good check out in the hope that it's something cheaper (haha dreaming... i know)

Anyway.. i'll be doing plenty of reading through the forums.
