    y61 front grill removal

can anybody tell me how the front grill comes off please. Ive got a bullbar on it with winch mount so cannot see from underneath. I assume the top buttons are a push in plug that need to be squeezed from underneath to allow for them to be pulled from above. But what are the bottom ones? what direction do they need to move to unclip?

basically you get a torch , lay on the ground and look up to see the clips , one each side . i used a flat blade screwdriver to push the spring part sideways so that the clip could be pushed out the hole . you need to push a peice of rag up between the grill to stop it going back in whilst you undo the other clips .

I got the shits with mine and just prised the two lower clips out with a screwdriver, when they eventually break I'll use zippy ties

Yup. Those clips will more than likely snap in some way. I just use some large elec zippies as I know I'll have to take the grille off again at some stage.

I put a nylon washer as a spacer on each of the 2 lower clips over the male spigots on the grille so that they still locate but do not lock in. I didn't want to completely butcher them so I could restore back to original if needed. Seems to work, no rattles or shakes, still quite firm, and a hell of a lot easier to remove the grille. Just a dab of silicon holds the washers in place.
