    Ngarkat Conservation Park Overnighter

Skipped away on the weekend for a one nighter up in Ngarkat Conservation Park in SA.

Ngarkat is up near the northern end of the Border Track, which was closed for the Summer period when we went up.

The weather wasn't too great, it was pretty windy on the Saturday, in the mid - high teens. During the night we were graced with light rain & drizzle which continued on all through Sunday.

We camped along Shaughs Track, just west of Mount Shaugh and around 5Kms west of the Border Track, Shaughs Track runs off the Ngarkat Highway and to the Border Track.

It was incredibly peaceful all weekend, except for the wind. Lying in the swag under the stars at night, when the wind had finally dropped, I could feel the stress & tension from the work week slowly fading away.

    Let the pictures begin ...

At the entrance of Shaughs Track ..

The perfect camp spot for one night.

    No neighbours ..

On the way home, we stopped off at Lake Bringalbert for a cup of tea and look around.

That's it, just a quick one night away for a change of scenery and enjoy some bush camping.

Nice one mate, recently spent a few days in the big Desert and snuck into SA for a little bit. Awesome country hidden gem I reckon, same we saw a few people but never shared a night with anyone at camp.

Yep, it is a hidden gem around that area. I call it the Simpson Desert without the travel. Only downside is that is can sometimes be hard to find enough firewood, but we usually get by.

Totally kept thinking to myself why travel to the Simpson when you can have more solitude there (compared to the main thoroughfares in the Simmo anyway) and just as good driving and camping. . . Dalhausie is worth it tho wicked spot. . Anyways better not endorse it too much or else everyone will start going there . .

If you ever go back up that way Rossco, just between you and me, a favourite spot for a nights camp is Coburns Pines, an easy drive in from Pinaroo, you might need to bring your own firewood in though.
