    After market RD28 Turbo

Hi everyone Im in the midst of a top end rebuild new head, timing, glow plugs, harmonic, crank seal gaskets, 3" exhaust and injectors. I'm not sure if its worthwhile replacing the turbo. It seems tight and good overal condition. The bus has done 250Ks on the orginal turbo. I was thinking Ive gone this far and replacing or servicing the existing turbo. I came across this one and wanted to know anyone elses experiences with after market units?

I don't think I've ever met someone running a cheap ebay turbo..

I would expect they just wouldn't last and if you were to test them they probably wouldn't be as efficient as a quality turbo. That's all just opinion and speculation, but if you're paying a third of the price for something that requires precision manufacturing.. I'd expect a third of the quality.

No worries. If money is tight I'd run the old garret one and put your pennies away for when it dies. I'd trust it to last longer than your ebay version.
