You should try to meet up with a couple of SA members mate and head out for a day ... great fun and easy way to learn around people who'll take the time to show you stuff!

Yeah ive got a few mates taht are in clubs, and also some that arent, but to start with we'll just do some day trips and get some experience. Then once we get some experience up, and by that stage will have the roof top tent, and other required gear, then we will tackle some harder tracks/trips.
