    GQ glow plug timer issue

G'day people. First post as I've signed up to download the GQ workshop manual. Chasing the test procedure (if there is one) for the glow plug circuit on my '99 GQ ute with TD42 naturally aspirated. I've read plenty of posts on here regarding glow plugs but none quite cover the specifics I'm after. ( if they do my low tech computer brain can't find them). Symptoms - glow cycle is very short ie. 3 second first glow, 1 second after glow for three cycles. Causes the old girl to cough and splutter on cold start up. When disconnecting the temp sender in the thermostat housing the initial glow is a lot longer, maybe 15 seconds, but after glow still short. Want to know the resistance on a working temp sender and test process for the glow timer unit. (FYI, new injectors and glowplugs fitted. Correct voltage getting to glow plugs, just a short cycle)
Cheers in adavance to any response.
