leaf spring lift
So ive been doing my research and it seems that the go to lift height for leaf sprung rear is only 50mm. While 50mm is fine, if i can go higher i just might. So how do people lift any more then 50mm in the rear end on leaf? Is it just as simple as extended shackles( yes i know they are illegal) or more leaves in the pack. This is what info i could find, if im wrong, please let me know because id like to gather as much info as i can before i go buying anything. Still learning about the patrol suspension setup.

G’day Stump mate!
Honestly not trying to be rude, a very happy DX leafy owner also workwise over the years too.
Coily arse end utes do well outperform beasts yet lack some extra 400kg legal payload.
Besides, Old Man Emu, we did in the olden days benefit from a resetting mob in Bayswater Victoria, Spicer Springs IIRC?

All good mate. No offense taken. Just want to learn as much as i can before buying suspension. So pretty much what your saying is that im pretty well limited to 50mm lift unless i do a coil end rear conversion?

No experience with leafy Patrols, but OME leaves in a 75 series Troopy and a 60 series wagon, 'medium to heavy rating', outstanding result. Only issue with the front springs were they were a bit too long and it was easy to invert a spring hanger. Great articulation and ride, held the load well.

Extended shakles. I have no idea about the legality of them though. Although anything above 50mm will need an engineer to look at it depending which state you're in anyway.
Something like this: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F263894505465.

400k in a leaf troopy, first Id put greasable shackles in a must have for leafies
extended shackles youll need to do front and rear. I ran this set up for years with no probs.
twin diff locks 33" muddies and a 350 chev motor saw it near unstopable
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
