    2.8 timing marks.

hey all i have ripped the head off my gu because of blown head gasket and now time to put it back together i was wondering when puttin in the timing belt is there any specific specs to where the pump, cam and crank line up or do i just put the pulleys on the marks and thats that? and does anyone know what the inserts that go into the head that the injectors sit in actually do ?

If you down load the "1998 Nissan Patrol Manual" the timing marks that you need to line up are shown on page EM19 (page 99).

The injector inserts are a gasket to seal the injectors to the cylinder head.

When you put the harmonic balancer on, make sure you loctite it.
When you think you have the timing right, turn the motor over by hand 4 complete turns to double check.
This is best done with glo plugs out.
